Legends Paul Kee, Trevor Porter and Graeme Philson will also be sharing their footballing wisdom and highs of their careers with ‘Stute’. Aisling Duffy Carling Marketing Manager is delighted with the success of the events so far. “We created the Carling Presents evenings to help the fans get closer to legends and star players from their favourite teams in the Carling Premiership. So far there have been five Legends events and we are really pleased with the response of the fans so far. “The evenings have allowed for some fantastic football banter as fans have put the players and legends under the spotlight with every topic covered from best goal or player to which footballer has the best fashion sense!” said Aisling. Institute’s event takes place at Icon Restaurant on Wednesday 27 January at 7.30pm and tickets are already getting snapped up. Tickets for these exclusive events are free but places are limited. You can register for Institute’s event or the other remaining Legends dates at www.carlingpremiership.com/legends. Fans unable to attend can view all of the action from the night online as well as joining in the debate about your favourite team and reading Jackie Fullerton’s thoughts on the events.

INSTITUTE v LINFIELD -
The Premier League match between Institute and Linfield was called off at 1.50pm today (23rd Jan) following a pitch inspection by match referee, Raymond Crangle. This followed a 10am inspection which was requested by the Club. An inspection was carried out by a local referee but as this was inconclusive the match referee requested that a final decision be taken on his arrival at the ground. Unfortunately a section of pitch remained in the shade of the home stand and the overall temperature did not rise high enough to thaw it out. 80% of the pitch was softening up quickly with the direct sunlight and would have been playable. Institute FC would like to apologise sincerely to the staff, players and many travelling Linfield fans who had already made the journey by coach and car, to be subsequently turned away without a game. The Club would also like to assure everyone that every effort was made to avoid this situation occurring, by calling for an early pitch inspection. Unfortunately the weather was once again the winner as has been the case on so many occasions during this very difficult winter.
